Danish Hammershøi and Dreyer are the subject of a comparison intended to show the close relationship between the pictorial work of the first and the second film photography, bringing together for the first time their production in a rational approach.
Vilhelm Hammershøi (Copenhagen, 1864-1916) and Carl Theodor Dreyer (Copenhagen, 1889-1968) well represent Denmark at the turn of the century in painting and film.
